Hi,

My employer filed for I-140 and I-485 last year July. My I-140 got approved with a labor converted from RIR.

I want to know the priority date in the approved I-140. But the employer is not giving me copy of I-140. I called USCIS and they say they cannot give the information to be.

How do i get my priority date now?

I have I-140 and I-485 receipt numbers.

Can you find it thru I-485 receipt number?

Hi Forum,

My wife has an H1B visa which has been invalidated now because she had to travel to US with me on H4. Her petition seem to be valid. The I94 in her passport has H4 mentioned on it. Now we want to convert her visa back to H1. Since she has H1, I am wondering the H4 to H1 conversion process should be easier compare to applying fresh H1.

It would be great if you guys let me know what is the process of converting this without going back to home country.

On May 1, 2006, hundreds of thousands of immigrants around the country demonstrated against a restrictive immigration bill introduced in Congress. The Federal government has accused these people of bringing 500 to 1,000 illegal immigrants a month into the United States. The U.S. Attorney's office said these arrests were the result of a two-year investigation.

I got this mail today saying the pledge failed to meet its target of 100 people. Only 88 signed up for the pledge :mad:

F-1 is a non-immigrant visa that requires the applicant to prove that s/he has no intention for immigration.

Hi,
My labour and I40 are approved and PD is 12/07 for EB2.
My H1B 6th year expires on 10/10
I am thinking of changing companies. The job will be the same.
My questions are:
1) Can I use labour or approved I140 from old company to new company since the job will be the same or does the new company have to go through the entire labour and I140 process again.
2) Since I am already at the end of my fourth year of H1B, is there enough time for the new company to apply for labour and I140 since I believe the GC process should start by beginning of 5th year for H1B extension.
3) Can I use the old company PD for the new labour and I140 or will the PD be new as well.

Hi,
My H1B is with USCIS and my employer has received an intent to revoke.
I am planning to go on H4 and my questions are
1) Can my employer file for a new H1B ANYTIME regardless of whether my H1B is revoked or not? I heard that since i am already counted against the cap, it doesnt matter when the H1B is filed, once approved i could start work immediately. Is this true?
Or this can be done only till my earlier H1B is not revoked? And if revoked i will have to file H1B against the 2011 quota and start work from October?

Appreciate any response!!
