what an ignorant ass. doesnt he realize that IV core is made up of us. We are IV... there is no they. they are not some shady lobbying group.... they are professionals stuck in this mess just like the rest of us....but the only difference is that they are actually doing something to benefit us all using the force of larger numbers...including the jackass that started this poll.

The September 27 death of Pulitzer Prize winning columnist, William Safire, brought tears to throngs of readers who shared his passion for the English language (even as many disagreed with his politics). The passing on July 29 of Walter Cronkite, news anchor extraordinaire, America's most trusted person, evoked sadness among those who wistfully recalled an era when newscasters reported the day's events with fidelity and humility -- unlike the current crop who mostly ply their trade by sensationalizing reality and pumping their own celebrity. The August 25 demise of Sen. Ted Kennedy, Lion of the Senate, probably brought an end...

The Governator makes a good case for doing immigration reform this year. Go to about 6:35 in the interview with Greta Van Susteren to hear his comments on the subject.

I understand that cross chargeability becomes valid at the time of allocation of the visa number. So what do you mean by "in advance"?

Friends,
I am starting this thread for the people who are Greencard Holders and not married. Please share some thoughts for bringing their spouse here.
IV can help in this matter.
If all visa holders and citizens can bring their spouse instantly then why GC holder have to wait for many years after getting GC after many years.
Thanks
Jet

Family based green cards take a longish amount of time 5 yrs or so and your wife cannot enter US in that period. So if you plan to live with your wife in the US in the mean time here is an idea you can consider:
Give up your green card, then come back with H1 and your wife on H4 then reapply - you might get your green cards in 3-4 months because your 140 has an older priority date.
Just an idea... no legal basis. All the best!

The expiry date of B1/B2 is printed on the visa. Getting F1 does not invalidate B1/B2. Unless the visa issuer put a stamp on the B1/B2 as "Cancelled", it is still valid!

Hi All,
I am purchasing tickets to INDIA in an hour. Haven't thought about this much until one of my friends asked me this. My priority date is March 2005. I am planning to travel to INDIA using AP in December last week and come back in first week of Feb 2010. IF my GC gets approved during my stay in INDIA, would it a problem while coming back or if an RFE is issued, would it be a problem.
Please advice
Thanks

Congresswoman Zoe Logfren & & senator John Cornyn are supporters of legal immigration, they have always come forward to help the legal immigrant community. I guess it is high time people from California & Texas write & call to their offices and complaint about USCIS/DOS action of not releazing and statistics on I-485 applications pending invarious categories. We are blind folded by these Visa bulletins with no idea of what there for EB-3, EB-2 India, China etc. we don't know how many people are ahead of us what to do next. All this will resolve it USCIS/DOS tells us how many applications they have pending from which country and which category....For that we need to call these lawmakers..

I heard a fascinating interview of Kati Marton by Bob Edwards this weekend and am going to buy her new book Enemies of the People. The Hungarian-born Ms. Marton is a former ABC News reporter and NPR international correspondent. Journalism is in her blood. Her parents were reporters in Hungary for UPI and the AP and they risked their lives trying to report the truth in that country in the years leading up to the 1956 revolution. She writes about her parents' arrests by the secret police and the experience of living her first eight years in Hungary in her...

Page 42 of the study is interesting, where a suggestion is raised for changes to count the time stuck waiting in retrogression towards naturalization. That would only be fair.

Is it okay with AOS application to take contract Job after six month of AOS filling.
I am getting a long term contract with better opportunities. How is the contract job interpreted with continuing AOS application
You can do anything, using EAD or H1B if you have one, prior to getting your GC, as long as when you are nearing your GC, your GC sponsor or some other employer, is prepared to confirm that job same/similar to what is in LC, is available for you.

Hello,
I had E-Filed AP for me and my family on July 7th, 2008. Still it is showing as pending, On December 16th, 2008, I send a request to USCIS for expedite processing, December 26th I received a letter from USCIS that an officer is assigned to our case but after that there is no change in the status.
Can somebody pls suggest any steps that I should take to get my AP approved?
Thanks in advance
Vikram

I think you can't apply more than six months in advance from the date your H1 is expiring.
I guess anytime August onwards should be good .
