Do we get a notice to get biometrics done when you apply for EAD renewal?
My wife and I have a EAD renewal RD of June 23, 2008 at NSC. We have not gotten any LUD after that. Anybody knows how long it takes to get the EAD?

I have just gone thru March recording of IV lawyer call and the below caught my attention. Ms Susan mentioned that any company name change after I140 approval has to refile I 140. I am utterly confused as that particular scenario affect me and i would like to know what best course of action i can take at this point.
I filed LC and I 140 with company A
My I 140 got approved
Before i filed my I 485 my company changed its name
I asked my attorney at that time if we need to take any special action
Attorney said they can just add an amendment while applying for I 485 about name change and apply with approved I 140, which is with old company name.
I and my wife work on EAD for past 3 years and i am still employed with same company. I wonder which one of above attorney is correct and what i should do.
Does the fact that my I485 is pending for more than 180 days after approval of my I 140 will come to rescue in case of question about company name change (AC21)

There is 180 days rule for h1b without pay and also it is employers responsibility to pay when you are out of project. Also think about option of switching her back to h4.

Hello,
We just received the ASC notice for biometric notice. The date they provided is the same date where we have an appointment in Mexico US Consulate.
Any experience for re-scheduling the biometric appointment. We would like the appointment to be earlier.

I have two I -140's approved with one PD from end of 2005 and other end of 2006 both on EB2. I 485 is based based on 2nd one in 2006. So question is can I port 2005 pd to I 485 based on 2006?
Some where I heard that you can only port the PD when your 2nd is application stage and is pending. but here it is applied and already approved. Is it a good case for Porting PD or interfiling?
And by the way what is the difference between porting and interfiling?

Just got 3 transfer notices from CSC saying applcations transfered to NSC. Applcations reached July23rd at NSC. 140 approved from TSC.
Anybody in similar situation....

Here is a clear example of business leaders moving ahead of the politics of this issue. It will have an impact on any sensible person.
It should get onto as many news wires as possible. Which sensible person can say that those 1000 high paying jobs going to Vancouver/Canada is in the interest of Seattle/USA. Imagine to spin off losses of this, to housing, to retail, to all sorts of areas of the economy where many Americans make their livelihoods.
This is what people don't understand, push them too far and capitalists will weaken the US economy.

I don't intend to get anyone's hopes high as I am not sure if this page on the USCIS website is an updated one or is an older one, but it says PP is available for 129 & 140.

I got a family based green card (through my father - F1 family based category).
My father lives in east coast.
When I entered US on immigrant visa at that time my father was in India for one month visit.
Before my father come to US I moved westcoast for Job.
So basically after getting GC I have not stayed with my father even for a single day.
Now I am planning to go to east cost to visit my father and from there we are planning to visit canada.
My questions:
1. Is there any requirement that after entering on immigrant visa(GC) I have to stay with my father (even for few days)?
2. For my Canada visit: What things I need to keep with me (except GC and Passport) while entering US (from canada)?

My wife did call the National Customer Service Center and opened a service request too. But we have not heard anything yet. We tried getting an infopass appointment but none is available in our area. We will try it again tomorrow. I am kind of surprised how this can happen because in the USCIS database, approval of derivative application requires a check on primary application approval first. This is what I have been told by another lawyer.

Hi,
My attorney had filed our 485 at Nebraska SC on July 30th. She didnt file EAD & AP.
On August 10th I myself filed EAD & AP at Nebraska SC. I got receipts for AP. For EAD, they have sent back our docs saying that 765 has been filed with improper fee (guy who picked the file is not aware of July VB fee valid till Aug 17th). So I have sent back the documents with a cover letter stating we come under July VB, after a week they sent back the packet again with same reason to file with proper fee of $340. I dont want to waste time and energy.. so this time I have sent $340 and after a week on Oct1 we got receipts for EAD.
Mean while I called USCIS to check the status of my 485 and luckily got the receipts numbers from them. The file has been transferred to Texas.
My questions are:
1.The received date on the EAD receipt is stated as September 27th. But the very 1st time we filed was August 10th. So would they treat our file as that filed on August 10th or Sep 27th???
2.My EAD & AP are at Nebraska and 485 is at Texas..would that cause any delays..concerns?
Anyone been thru such experience. Please throw some light.
