I think all of us should call and get the referance number for our call. This will atleast keep us on the safe side when they write back to us that we didn't contact them on time !!!!!!!!!!!!!

I informed immigration-law.com of this issue and thread, and received a response.
How can we create awareness at AILA? Any ideas?
what kind of response did you recieve? Positive?
The only benefit I see with these attorney / their associations is to get them to inform their clients who might be facing similar situation about this movement. However, unless monitary benefit is involved these guys rarely act. But it is worth trying.

Here are the ones relevant to the discussion
``(F) The employer shall not place, outsource, lease, or otherwise contract for the placement of an alien admitted or provided status as an H-1B nonimmigrant with another employer;''
- In other words H1B are barred from Contracting business
``(I) If the employer employs not less than 50 employees in the United States, not more than 50 percent of such employees are H-1B nonimmigrants.''.
- H1Bs will find it hard to find direct jobs

The Associated Press reports that "GOP leaders promised their House and Senate members that the December lame-duck session would last no more than two weeks, or until Dec. 16 at the latest... Now, with the agenda shrinking, a session that will be the last for 45 retiring or defeated House members and senators should be wrapped up by Dec. 8." This means that the majority of legislation we have been tracking as possible candidates for lame-duck approval is likely to be punted to the 2007 congressional season. This is, of course, good news for democratic process, as Congress in 2007 will be much more accountable to the public than Congress during the 2006 lame-duck session.
Politically speaking, a related story in The Hill indicates that GOP chairs of appropriations committee are angered at what they see as an abdication of responsibilities by the GOP leadership. On the other hand, the AP story points out that this may be sound strategy for the GOP, as it is leaving quite a mess for Democrats to try to clean up in 2007: "The bulging workload that a Republican-led Congress was supposed to complete this year but is instead punting to 2007 promises to consume time and energy that Democrats had hoped to devote to their own agenda upon taking control of Congress in January for the first time in a dozen years."
So the question is — what will this lame-duck Congress take up? Haggling over spending priorities is likely to dominate the December session, as The Hill reports that the stage is being set for a 2007 effort by the Democrats to reinstate pay-as-you-go fiscal rules.

I can certainly provide hard evidence for relaxing (F).
That's what I'll concentrate on.
There are a few small technical improvements that I see to other parts too.
Here are the ones relevant to the discussion

The Congress is going on recess for 5 Weeks.. Madam Zoe Lofgren will have hands Full to Push for voting in the House before that. Also, House Speaker Pelosi has a wide latitude or power i can say to push this bill for voting . Shouldn't we call Speaker Pelosi too in this regard should the Bill gets 'Markep up' today??

2. I am wondering if Consulate Generaql of India can help us in any way to help achieve our goal. Afterall the Indian ambassador is posted here to help the citizens of India. If they can't help us than what's the point of having an Indian Consulate in America. Silmilarly there is a Ministry of Immigrant Indian, how can we take their help to achieve our goal. Only if consulate general and the ministry can approach the congressmen and senators, that may help us.

I filed my labor in Feb 07. Still its not approved. My employer says its stuck in Atlanta. any idea about this and if it approves in july wiil I be still current?

Excellent counter! I wrote a couple of rejoinders in the thread I cited above (as American Dream) and I think we should keep doing it. As long as we are presenting facts and not get too emotional, we can reach over to the few sensible people in these organizations.

I had emailed Houston consulate 3 times and every time got a reply saying No ATV required. I had a printout of the emails with me, incase they asked me about ATV. If they would still not allow me, there was nothing that I could do other than rescheduling the travel and going to Chennai for a ATV.

NO , It is mandatory to apply in the country of your residence (work or studies).

And I have one more suggestion. Let's fight to entirely stop new H1Bs (yes numbersusa will never oppose that). That might be the only way to get out of this mess. At the very least, if you don't like my first idea, let's lobby to get rid of substitute labor....

I would presume that the high levels of H1-B's issued previously without a corresponding increase in EB numbers has caused this bottleneck. The H1-B increase should have a corresponding EB increase to keep some sort of sanity in the system.
