Very true. The powers that be also know this all too well. If we show on public forums that a lot of us are "crooks & losers", most are eventually going to get deported or locked in endless wait. Don;t go showing the whole world your negative attributes, and back-stabbing/crab mentality.
Just think for a moment - Is this what it means to be American? Would Law makers want such people to become Americans?
However if you manage to show that most of you are hard working, helpful & positive people,who think and work with American values, you will get relief.

Reforming H1b is good for H1bs only. I really wonder how a person can survive with 25000 a year in CA or NY. The employers should be forced to give prevailing wage for the employee. Atleast the employee should be paid a decent salary.

Any updates as to your case status?
i sent my docs that were received on dec 10
after that there was a lud change continuously for 5 days until dec 15.
since then nothing and message remains same rfe received...

Yes, I do report the intrest earned from that around $16.00 a year.
Of course that does not exempt you from reporting income or bank interest on that money in your 1040 if you are a "US person".
Remember, all US persons must report income from all sources worldwide .
Unfortunately no one can hide from IRS in Timbuktu ! Also all international wire transfers are monitored on the SWIFT network by the CIA and forwarded to IRS if they think it is suspicious.

I think IV members in every state has to come together and meet the congressmen/congresswoman and submit a letter and voice our problems due to retrogrssion.
This generic talk of "we need to do something" is not working I feel. I mean to say there are not many people who are really "taking things into their hands". Most of them are just curious readers.
If people who are affected by retrogression in every state come together and meet the senators I believe it will be worth it.
Agree 100%. That way we can make sure that even if the industry lobby forgets about EB visas, the lawmakers know about it.

I am not trying to downplay the gravity of this issue, but I don't think May 21st 2007 will have any significance even if this irrational piece of badly written legislation even becomes law. First and foremost no law can retroactively treat those who have followed the law before the new one is enacted. In most cases those applied before a law is enacted are treated in accordance with the old law or some kind of transition procedure. It is foolish for anyone to assume that people will plan on to file things based on when a legislation is introduced in Senate. Imagine the law suits that can be filed simply saying I was not made aware this provision when I was filing this petition and I am entitled to the full refund of the filing fees along with the associated damages. USCIS will be bankrupt in no time. That's why most lawyers are confident that such an insane thing even if it becomes law will some how be handled without retroactively treating the existing applications. In my opinions all those who have things at stake such as I-140/I-485 concurrent fillings or changing jobs to restart the process should be ok and there will be ample warnings when the real train wreck in imminent. Until then let's support IV and bring down the curtain on this stinky mess called retrogression.

For family based, if you filed for Family based FB1, FB2, FB3, FB4, your file with be processed with 567,000 annual quota if the petition was filed before May 1st 2005. Otherwise it will be processed under a new lowered quota and under the merits system, depending on the relationship of family.
So the dates are used to divide pending petitions and direct them into one system or another. Its not acting retroactively, its subjecting petitions before and after certain date differently.

We at IV are close to achieving our goal, and we are going to succeed in this endeavor. IV will be victorious.

Yes, I think Neb received around 8k and texas received 4k on july2. But they include eb1+eb2+eb3...And btw, not all of them have their pd current...

We are in touch with a local TV station in Indiana via a client of my husband's. We are hoping to have then run a short story in the very near future.

Do we need to have seperate covering letters for primary application and spouse (dependent).
How do we seperate primary application documents from dependent documents? any color sperators or staple the docs?

Do we need to place check for each application 485, 131, 325 at the start of each or can we place all checks of a applicant in sigle location?
Where do we enter I140 recipt number in 485 applications, Is it that we need to provide a copy of 140 recipt as part of application docs and USCIS will manage accoridngly.
