Hi,
I keep reading about a sale/trade area of this site but can't seem to find it. Does it still exist? If so could you please point me in the right direction.
Thanks,

that's really childish. the REAL question is who took the picture? they're on their honeymoon, for gosh sakes: and they took a friend?
I totally agree! It was the first thing I noticed...

Ahahahahahah. WOW. Between the confusion of 2GB Shuffles, Chundles's engraving suggestions and Snowy_River's picture, this thread has officially made my day.

Try this link for more info...discs will be $20 and the link has prices from $499-$1000 as I posted before this was announced ;)

great, now Toast can concentrate on compatibility issues on the DVD-R side... i've had nothing but problems with my Plextor 716A (DL) and I can't burn higher than 2x without underrun errors on either my new MBP or the Plextor. Different media hasn't helped.
That's odd, my friend is using, well was, a 700Mhz G3 iBook with 640mb RAM and the same Plextor 716A FW drive which can burn at 16X
Same software, wonder what is going on with yours :o

'turned into' a a profit machine? As opposed to... when?
Providing health services and goods has always been a for-profit enterprise. This is exactly what has lead to the amazing growth in medical technology in the past 100 years.
Yeah, I kind of doubt that. The amazing growth of medical technology arises from academia, not private industry. AHIP have just been along for the ride, driving up costs while contributing nothing of value.
For the record, the (wealthy) are paying their fair share. The top 50% of wage earners pay over 95% of the income tax. Your disgusting attack on all conservatives wanting to '****' over all citizens is just that... disgusting ... Lower taxes? Strong business climate with low unemployment? You seem to be contradicting yourself... what strong middle class policies are you specifically talking about?
Al Jazeera has an interesting take on the failure of "neo-liberalism" (http://english.aljazeera.net/indepth/opinion/2011/02/201122414315249621.html). You should find their conclusions interesting:
What is neoliberalism? In his Brief History of Neoliberalism, the eminent social geographer David Harvey outlined "a theory of political economic practices that proposes that human well-being can best be advanced by liberating individual entrepreneurial freedoms and skills within an institutional framework characterised by strong private property rights, free markets, and free trade." Neoliberal states guarantee, by force if necessary, the "proper functioning" of markets; where markets do not exist (for example, in the use of land, water, education, health care, social security, or environmental pollution), then the state should create them.
Guaranteeing the sanctity of markets is supposed to be the limit of legitimate state functions, and state interventions should always be subordinate to markets. All human behavior, and not just the production of goods and services, can be reduced to market transactions.
Ah, hmm, maybe there is a linguistic disconnect at work here. Vilifying the "liberals", blaming them for creating the environment that led to unrest in north Africa and drawing salient parallels to US could have unintended results.
The charts look amazing on my iPhone.
Are you easily amazed?

I want retribution, so do most americans. Glad we got it. And please define "destroyed", those countries were radical muslim wastelands and iraq had an evil dictator. They were pretty much destroyed as it is. Just like dirty trash bins attract flies and rats, those countries attract terrorists. Your solution to just leave the middle east alone is counterproductive, ignoring bullies never worked. Your country tried that with hitler, how did that work out for you?
Don't fool yourself, this has nothing to do with going after bullies or being the good guy.
Where are we with Mugabe (Who I'd argue is definitely as evil as Osama)? Where are we with Darfur? Or some other various countries in Africa that have some really evil people in it.
Shoot, we have supported the bad guys before (Central America for example or for that matter we supported Saddam Hussein at one point and even Stalin with propoganda telling people how Stalin was our friend and I'd argue Stalin was probably more insane than Hitler. Hitler learned propoganda from Stalin as well) because it was in our better interest.
Don't go thinking the US always supports the good guys or goes after the bad guys. There's a reason the terrorists can convince people we're evil and join them. It's a myth that "they hate our way of life" and more that we've supported people who haven't been so kind in the middle east.
In the end a lot of our follies ended up due to the fear of communism. So now instead we have the fear of the religious terrorists. I wonder who we'll end up pissing off now with our policies of anything (and ally with anyone) who we think will help us against who we dislike (Even if who we ally with are not nice people themselves).

I take it math isn't your strong subject?
US debt is approximately $14 trillion. A peta- is 1000 times larger than a tera- and you are suggesting that the debt is 1000 time larger than that. That's OK, you only missed by a factor of one million.
sounds like there is a job for him in government somewhere!
just kidding

Most paste can take up to a week or two to take it's full effect.
second that. takes a bit for everything to line up and get useful.
mmm - Geekbench score 732. woohoo
temp is sitting at around 46-47 degrees C or 117 degrees F at idle. A bit better than before the MX-2 paste.
Lets see what 2Gb of ram does
sounding good so far. i would think those temps would come down a bit more after getting set. the fans at 12v (with quiet fans) is a good idea to move as much air a possible, as long as the noise is not a problem of course.
more ram will make everything better, but will also raise the ambient temps in the case as ram does get warm.
can't wait to see how it all ends. and pics. :)

Could we see a picture of your engraving please?
I've tried snapping pictures of my engraving, but my camera won't pick up anything but a blur... But for what it's worth, it seems the Capital letters / numbers are exactly 1/16th of an inch in height.

I have the opposite problem. I get much more spam through to my inbox on my gmail account than I do with .mac . As always, YMMV.
I discovered 0spam (www.0spam.com) about a year ago, check it out, it's dropped my spam count in 4 accounts I have from about 2000 - 2200 a day to less than 5 a week! Works with *any* email accounts webbased or otherwise. Awesome :p

You also get a lot of people on here looking at the US Apple Store and seeing the iPhone 4 at $200 then checking their own store and seeing it priced around 500 Pounds or Euros.
They don't understand that the US price doesn't include sales tax and requires signing up for an expensive 2 year contract but their own price includes tax and is for a factory unlocked, contract-free phone.
my iP4 here in my country costed me a whole $0.33 to get on a 2 year contract.
off contract they are around 25% more than US.

Apple's attitude about this stuf has always been very positive. I'm totally willing to believe that all this stuff was an oversight since believing that matches what they've said in the past.

I think they will use the new 256-Bit advanced vector extensions (256-Bit AVX) of the Sandy Bridge processors. It makes sense, because GPU-based solutions like Badaboom do not reach the same quality as CPU-based solutions. The AVX are ideal for video codecs, filters an so on.
Yeah, that means we will see new Pro hardware from Apple "early next year". And no, you will not see LP in Macs until 2015.

Quality over Quantity. I'm sure Ford outsells BMW, but BMW is obviously the better choice.
Can we go with Lexus, instead? Thanks!

Q: Should I want my device to no longer be able to share information with third parties, and I turn off Location Services, does my iPhone continue to do so? A: No.
Q: Is the anonymous, encrypted information sent back to Apple currently used for any other purpose than to speed up finding my location when I am using GPS services so I don't have to wait several minutes each time? A: No.
Q: Is the location data on my iPhone my actual whereabouts? A: No. It's cell towers and Wi-Fi hotspots nearby, some more than 100 miles away.
If this is Big Brother, he gets an EPIC FAIL from me.
